Hello everyone

Our school started 4 weeks ago now. We’re already in the middle of it, and time is flying by. The students found out on Monday about their Outreach locations: Fiji and Indonesia. I might participate in a staff Outreach, but more on that once I have more information.

We started with an orientation week, and afterward, we had our first three weeks of lectures on the topics: “Character and Nature of God,” “Hearing God’s Voice,” and “Identity.” Instead of a surfing and outdoor stream, we are running a “Music and Worship” stream this time. In this, we will learn from experienced worship leaders and musicians, possibly learn new instruments, and most importantly, write and produce an album. We also lead worship services and might even have live performances. The week before last, we had an interview with Zach Winters, a Christian, american singer-songwriter. This weekend we stayed in an Airbnb by the ocean and worked on our songs.

I’ve been living in an RV for the past month because the boys' flat isn’t finished yet. But it’s a very cozy RV, and the house should be finished soon too.

On Mondays, us staff have “Diakonos,” a leadership course that’s structured in a way where we can grow and learn, while leading DTS. In the end, we’ll even get an “Associate of Arts Degree in Leadership” from the University of the Nations (UofN). We have 3 hours of classes per week and then self-study on the topic we covered. So far, I’ve learned a lot, and it’s nice to have something to work on over a longer period of time.

On Tuesdays, I help out at the Salvation Army café. It’s fun and adds a nice change to the week.

Next week, we will have Brianna Lokeni as a speaker on the topic of “Relationships.” She also led our staff training.

Take care, and see you in the next newsletter!
